K-Pop Fans: Are You a ‘Ballad Skipper’?! I Thought It Was Just Me ๐ฑ
Hey guys, have you seen this?? ๐ฑ While scrolling through online communities at 3 AM (everyone does that, right? It’s not just me?), I found a post that almost made me scream. It had over 50,000 views and more than 500 comments, and it was absolutely blowing up.
Turns out, it’s a type that’s really common among K-Pop stans: the โballad skipperโ! You know those people who, when their favorite idol’s album drops and they’re supposed to listen to all the tracks, immediately skip to the next song if a ballad comes on? Apparently, they even mercilessly skip fan songs if they’re ballads ๐
Dopamine Addiction? Or Just a Trend?
I honestly admit it too. K-Pop is all about those dopamine-bursting beats and thrilling performances, isn’t it? Slower songs are hard to focus on, and they feel like they lack energy. So, I often find myself skipping tracks while waiting for the killing part lolol.
Korean fans’ reactions are also 100% relatable:
โMy playlist is full of fast-tempo songsโฆ I only listen to ballads as background music.โ
โEven if my bias sings a balladโฆ I can’t help itโฆ the skip button just goes first ใ ใ โ
โWhen a ballad comes on at a concert, it’s bathroom break time lolol (no joke).โ
Isn’t this a truly bittersweet reality?! But then again, if you think about it, the K-Pop scene itself seems to be increasingly pursuing faster and more intense music. Perhaps our ears, as fans, are also adapting to that, seeking out more stimulating sounds.
What’s the Impact on the K-Pop Scene?
So, what kind of impact will this have on the K-Pop scene? Should idols only release upbeat songs? But there are so many great ballads too! Honestly, we do need some slower, ‘breather’ tracksโฆ I’m curious how fans’ consumption patterns might affect the musical spectrum of idols.
We really need to talk about thisโฆ What about you? Are you a ballad skipper? Or do you enjoy ballads too? Let me know in the comments! ๐โจ
